                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1404 and
                   1408 COWART STREET, BEING ON THE SOUTHEAST LINE
                   OF COWART STREET SOUTHWEST OF WEST 14TH STREET,
                   FROM M-1 MANUFACTURING ZONE TO C-3 CENTRAL
                   BUSINESS ZONE, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 1404 and 1408 Cowart
                Street, being on the southeast line of Cowart
                Street southwest of West 14th Street.  Lots 32, 33,
                and 34, block 2, J. C. Stanton's Subdivision, as
                shown by plat of record in deed book H. volume 2,
                page 156, ROHC; being the property described in
                deed book 4463, page 463, ROHC.  Tax Map No.
                145L-A-9 and 10.
               
               
         from M-1 Manufacturing Zone to C-3 Central Business Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this rezoning 

         shall be subject to the following conditions:
        
        
              1.   Maximum height of five stories; and
        
              2.   All existing easements are retained.
        
        
              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
